We ate at Rum Fish two times while in Placencia. Both times the food was excellent and the drinks very tasty. The prices are a bit higher than other restaurants in town, but the menu is more diverse and the atmosphere a bit more classy. Had our first plantain chips which were delicious! The only problem was that they play loud music in the late evenings and our rental house was behind the restaurant!
Rumfish has a nice atmosphere and happy hour was great so we returned for dinner.
The Crow's Nest
A group of us chartered a Moorings catamaran and sailed throughout the islands. Halfway through our trip we stopped at South Waters Resort to refill out water tanks and attend a private party put together by Maria Cabral. The party was fun for all and included fantastic appetizers and dinner!!! Maria made the food that was delicious and there was was more than enough for our group of nine. All of us did plenty of dancing and with the help of Marie we learned Belize's Punta Rock. Maria was very friendly, outgoing and made us feel at home.
Oh the hours we spent at the Tipsy Tuna! What a great set of servers! We came upon this awesome beach bar while walking the beach, and proceeded to head there most days of our week visit! The food was always great, and timely, and we never had any issues getting delicious drinks. They have an amazing selection of drinks...
I've been to Placencia several times now on different trips to Belize and I always end up at the Barefoot Bar. Great drinks, good music, easy to find location and free WiFi! The service is always friendly and helpful. And there are always some interesting characters sitting around the bar at the place! Lots of expats seem to gravitate towards the Barefoot Bar.
